Of modernist architecture, the Rio Museum of Modern Art built by Affonso Eduardo Reidy was completed in 1955. It is located in the heart of Flamengo Park designed by Robert Burle Marx. It houses more than 15,000 works by national and international artists. Between the reflections of the bay windows, the openwork courtyards and the play of shadows on the water of the pool, Mariotti invites David Hockney into his drawing. The American painter in a pink shirt, fascinated by the reflections of water and male bodies in swimming pools (A bigger splash), this time sets his eyes on a pink flamingo taking flight.
Paulo Mariotti, Brazilian journalist at the very famous Brazilian news channel Globo News and illustrator, deploys a unique style for Image Republic. He offers various representations of his colorful itinerancy, some of which have been exhibited in the galleries of the Brazilian embassy in Brussels and Rome.
